Date: December 16, 1964 Flag Act Passes
An Act adopting a new National Flag of Canada passed, after closure was invoked on 14 December. Royal assent was given on 28 January 1965 and the flag was proclaimed on 15 February 1965 and raised for the first time on the Peace Tower.
