Brian Paul Anthony is one of Canada's veteran arts administrators whose long and distinguished career spans some four decades. He has held a variety of key positions over the years, such as executive director of the Canadian Conference of the Arts, the Confederation Centre of the Arts, the Heritage Canada Foundation and the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards Foundation. His last position before retirement was CEO of the Directors Guild of Canada.
The SS Queen Victoria played host to crucial discussions about Confederation in Charlottetown harbour in 1864. Two years later, the ship was lost in a hurricane off Cape Hatteras. The wreckage has never been found.
