Nuchatlaht

Nuchatlaht ("people of the mountain") is a NOOTKA Band of 167 registered Nuchatlaht on the west coast of Vancouver Island, BC. They formerly consisted of independent groups, which became reduced from warfare and disease, and amalgamated as an Aboriginal community during the historical period. The village is Nuchatl at the mouth of Esperanza Inlet.
