Internationally known for its SKIING facilities, 7 World Cup races have been held there since 1969. The area is superbly equipped; downhill skiers and snowboarders enjoy 51 runs totalling 60 km (15 km are illuminated for night skiing). There are 215 km of trails for cross-country skiers, and other winter activities include ice skating, dogsledding, snowshoeing and paragliding. A year-round gondola takes people to the summit and its outstanding view of the river, its islands and the south shore.
Mont-Sainte-Anne is a pleasant summer recreation spot with 2 18-hole golf courses at the base of the mountain and 200 km of trails crisscrossing it from top to bottom for mountain biking and hiking. Accommodations must be found outside the resort area but there is a 166-site campground.
