John Grierson Award

The John Grierson Award was given for outstanding contributions to Canadian cinema, and was named in honour of John GRIERSON, the British documentary filmmaker and theoretician who was the founder of the NATIONAL FILM BOARD. It was presented at the CANADIAN FILM AWARDS from 1972 t0 1978, and at the GENIE AWARDS in 1980.
