Joseph (M.P.) Delcellier. Clarinetist, born Béziers, 6 Dec 1876, died Montreal 11 Nov 1957. For 12 years, prior to 1914, he was a member of the noted English opera company of Carl Rosa. He later moved to Montreal and became an original member of the CSM (
MSO). For that orchestra's inaugural concert, 14 Jan 1935, Delcellier and Hervé Baillargeon performed
Rosario Bourdon's transcription, for flute, clarinet, and orchestra, of Lavallée's famous piano piece
Le Papillon. Delcellier remained with the CSM until about 1948.
